Summer Camp / Glamorous Gardening : Grades 3 - 5

Let’s create a garden! Students will learn all about gardening and optimal conditions for plant growth. We will start to grow vegetables, flowers, fruits, and herbs! We will also learn about soil, soil layers, and where you can and can’t grow certain plants. Students will also learn about different biomes and climates that are best for growing gardens, the role of farmers in our society, GMOs, photosynthesis, and the positive impact that community gardens can have on big cities. Students will also explore the LASC grounds looking at different plants and animals.

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center and all applicable safety guidelines will be practiced. Parents should provide two peanut-free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.
