Summer Camp / Appalachian Cooking & Music: Grades 3 - 5

Here in Lexington, we are surrounded by deep Appalachian culture. In this class, students will have the opportunity to learn about Appalachian culture through food and music. The class will begin in the teaching kitchen with Chef Hannah, learning to create traditional Appalachian dishes. Students will then spend the afternoon with local musician Will Padgett. Learning about Appalachian music, singing, songs, trying out traditional instruments, and building their very own musical instruments. 

This class will meet in person at the Living Arts & Science Center and all applicable safety guidelines will be practiced. Parents should provide two peanut-free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.
