This hands-on music class invites students to explore the world of music through playing, creating, and performing. Participants will learn the basics of playing a variety of instruments, including ukulele and percussion, while also having the opportunity to bring and play their own instruments.Students will build simple instruments such as can-tars, experiment with rhythm using drums, and explore the history of music across different cultures and time periods. Through guided activities, they will develop foundational music skills, collaborate with peers, and try their hand at songwriting and musical expression. The week will end with a final performance, where students will showcase what they’ve learned for friends and family. No prior musical experience is required—just curiosity, creativity, and a love of sound.
This class will meet in person at The Living Arts & Science Center. Parents should provide two peanut free snacks, one lunch, and a personal water bottle for their child.
